• Fundraiser information: the title, story, images, and goal amount you provide when creating a fundraiser.
• Payment information: transaction amounts and payment method identifiers. We do not store full card numbers — payments are handled by PCI-DSS compliant gateways (PayPal, Paynow).
• Usage data: pages visited, actions taken, and device/browser information collected automatically.
• Communications: any messages or support requests you send us.

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and manage your account and fundraisers.
• Process donations and withdrawals securely.
• Send you transactional emails (e.g. donation confirmations, withdrawal updates).
• Provide customer support and respond to your enquiries.
• Detect fraud and ensure platform security.
• Improve our services through aggregated, anonymised analytics.

We will never sell your personal data to third parties or use it for purposes unrelated to operating Chema.

Your information is shared only where necessary:

• Payment processors (PayPal, Paynow, EcoCash partners) to facilitate transactions.
• Infrastructure providers (e.g. hosting, email delivery) under strict data processing agreements.
• Law enforcement or regulators when required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

Fundraiser pages are publicly visible to anyone with the link. Donor names are shown unless a donor chooses to donate anonymously.

All data is encrypted in transit using TLS and at rest using industry-standard encryption. Access to personal data within our team is restricted on a need-to-know basis.

While we take reasonable precautions, no system is completely secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password for your Chema account.

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and maintain your session. We may also use analytics cookies to understand how users interact with Chema so we can improve the platform.

You can configure your browser to reject cookies, though some features may not function correctly without them.

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your account and associated data.
